1993 - Mahaan Proteins set up and Mahaan Foods Ltd. listed on BSE

A green-field facility in Kosi Kalan (UP, India) was set up under the name Mahaan Proteins and the Paonta facility was listed on the BSE to trade as Mahaan Foods Ltd.

With Mahaan Proteins, Mahaan forayed into processing milk for catering to the needs of the nutrition and pharmaceutical segments. We processed about 180 million kilograms of milk annually at the Kosi factory. This facility was ISP, USP, JP, BP and Pharmacopia approved.

The Paonta facility in the meantime continued to manufacture retail consumer products like ghee, milk powders, sauces, pickles (brand name: Tastemaker) and biscuits, all under the super brand: Mahaan.
